Lady Elegant's Team Room and Gift Shoppe has a history of over fifteen years as a dream of one thoughtful young lady Michelle Hubble. It was officially opened as a Tea Room & Gift Shoppe at its present site in Saint Anthony Park in 2003, serving tea according to English tradition.

After eleven years at this location, Lady Elegant's was put up for sale during the first quarter of 2014. At about the same time another lady by the name Wubitu Ayana Sima, with an equally strong passion for cooking and serving people, moved to Minnesota with her husband Admasu Simeso; both from Ethiopia and members of the Oromo Community, one of the largest immigrant communities in Twin Cities area.
Wubitu and Admasu knew Minnesota and considered it as their second home (now home as of 2008) since the mid-1980s. Wubitu is an Augsburg College graduate. Both of them spent many years in an international career with the UN and other humanitarian organizations. After moving to Minnesota they decided to own a small business of their own and began looking for a place.

They spent almost a year praying and looking for an ideal location as well as an ideal business. Through the diligent search and careful evaluation of a local brokerage company the sellers of Lady Elegant's and the new buyers came together. The first time they came to see the business they liked the place and the owners as well. The sale was finalized on 29 April 2014 and the ownership changed hands.

We are very pleased with the location in Saint Anthony Park as well as the customer base that we inherited from the former owners. Although we come from coffee growing families from the Oromia region in Ethiopia and tea is secondary in our culture, we are committed to continue serving the people who have been regular customers coming to Lady Elegant's for English style tea in a quiet setting. While we are committed to maintain the English tradition of tea, we also hope and look forward to gradually adding some more menu items to give it a more global flavor.
